Go Sattvik Foxtail Millet Upma

Best for: Healthy breakfast or light dinnerCooking

Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • Foxtail millet – 1 cup (washed & soaked 10 minutes)

  • Water – 2 cups

  • Ghee / cold-pressed oil – 1 tbsp

  • Mustard seeds – ½ tsp

  • Cumin seeds – ½ tsp

  • Curry leaves – few

  • Green chilli – optional

  • Mixed vegetables – ½ cup

  • Salt – as per taste

  • Lemon juice & coriander – for garnish

 

Method

  • Heat ghee/oil, add mustard and cumin seeds.

  • Add curry leaves, chilli, and vegetables; sauté lightly.

  • Add soaked foxtail millet and stir for 2 minutes.

  • Add water and salt, cover and cook till soft.

  • Garnish with lemon juice and coriander.

Ingredients

  • Foxtail millet – 1 cup

  • Yellow moong dal – ½ cup

  • Mixed vegetables – 1 cup

  • Turmeric – ½ tsp

  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp

  • Hing – a pinch

  • Ghee – 1 tsp

  • Salt – to taste

  • Water – 3 cups

Method

  • Wash and soak millet and dal for 15 minutes.

  • Heat ghee, add cumin and hing.

  • Add vegetables and turmeric, sauté briefly.

  • Add millet, dal, salt, and water.

  • Cook until soft and porridge-like.

Method

  • Boil water or milk.

  • Add washed millet and cook till creamy.

  • Sweeten naturally and top with fruits or nuts.

🍲 GoSattvik Little Millet Pongal

A comforting South Indian classic made healthier with Little Millet.

Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup GoSattvik Little Millet

  • ½ cup moong dal

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp ginger, finely chopped

  • ½ tsp cumin seeds

  • ½ tsp crushed black pepper

  • 1–2 tsp ghee

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Method

  • Wash little millet and moong dal separately. Soak for 20–30 minutes.

  • Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and black pepper.

  • Add chopped onion and ginger. Sauté until soft and light golden.

  • Add soaked millet, moong dal, salt, and 3 cups of water. Mix well.

  • Pressure cook for 3–4 whistles.

  • Let pressure release naturally. Open and mix to a soft, porridge-like consistency.

  • Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with chutney or sambar.
